Industrial racking audits: safety, compliance and operational continuity
Do you manage a warehouse and aren’t sure your racking is compliant?
Our experience shows that regular racking inspections are not just best practice—they are essential to ensure safety, uptime and legal compliance.
Why a technical racking audit matters
Modern warehouses are dynamic environments: frequent handling with forklifts and heavy equipment can gradually damage structural elements.
Without periodic checks, pallet racking can become a real risk for people, goods and the entire operation. According to UNI EN 15635:2009, you need regular visual inspections and an annual expert inspection by qualified personnel (PRSES/expert inspector).
Applicable standards
Compliance is not optional. Key standards include:
UNI EN 15635:2009 – Application and maintenance of steel static storage systems
UNI EN 15512:2009 – Design of racking systems
EN 1993-1-3:2006 – Eurocode 3 (cold-formed members)
Legislative Decree 81/08 – Workplace health & safety (Italy)
D.M. 14/01/2008 and C.S.LL.PP. Circular 617/2009
Want to know if your warehouse is safe and compliant?
Our method: simple, technical, reliable
1. First contact & scoping
A technical conversation to understand your context—no off-the-shelf offer. We define needs and the most suitable approach.
2. Preliminary technical site visit
3. Documentation collection or survey
We gather available documents (drawings, load notices, CE/DoP, manuals). If missing or incomplete, we perform a geometric/structural survey to create an accurate baseline.
4. Audit & visual inspection
Detailed verification of rack condition: structural integrity, damage, defects and wear. Where needed, we run static checks to confirm load capacity and stability.
5. Technical report
A complete deliverable including:
- Rack register (inventory/abacus)
- Non-conformities and anomalies
- Damage classification by severity (per UNI EN 15635—green/amber/red)
- Technical actions for repair, replacement, re-levelling and safe operating procedures
